Interior vs. Full Detail: Which Does Your Car Need?
Compare Kern Revive's interior and full-detail services, current Bakersfield pricing, appointment times, and separate add-ons before you book.

An interior detail focuses on the cabin. A full detail combines interior and exterior cleaning in one appointment. The right choice depends on which areas need attention, the vehicle's size and condition, and the specific work included in the package.
For Bakersfield drivers comparing options, package names alone can be misleading: different detailers include different tasks. Here is how Kern Revive's own services compare, what costs extra, and how to choose without paying for work you do not need.
What an Interior Detail includes at Kern Revive
The Interior Detail is intended for a cleaner daily-use cabin. Its listed features include a full vacuum, dashboard and door-panel wipe-downs, interior glass, scent, and light dressing.
Choose it when the outside is already in reasonable shape but the inside has collected the usual commute, school-run, or passenger mess. Common priorities include crumbs around the seats, dusty panels, dirty mats, and glass that needs cleaning from the inside.
An interior-only appointment does not include the exterior hand wash. It also does not automatically include every possible deep-cleaning method. If your priority is shampooing, steam cleaning, extraction, or another specific treatment, ask Luis to confirm availability and scope rather than assuming it comes with the package name.
What changes when you choose a full detail
Kern Revive offers separate full-detail packages for sedans/coupes and trucks/SUVs. Each combines interior and exterior care, includes a door-jamb wipe-down, and finishes with a walkthrough.
A full detail makes sense when both the cabin and outside need attention. For example, a family SUV might have crumbs and dust inside while the exterior, wheels, and glass also need cleaning. Handling both areas in the same appointment avoids choosing an interior-only service and discovering that your exterior priorities were outside its scope.
“Full” still describes the listed package. It is not a promise to remove every stain or scratch, and it does not automatically add paint correction, ceramic coating, engine cleaning, or upholstery extraction. Confirm any work that is important to you before the visit.
Current prices and appointment estimates
These are the prices displayed on Kern Revive's live menu on October 27, 2026. Check the current service menu when booking; offers can change, add-ons cost extra, and the final price is confirmed after reviewing vehicle condition.
- Interior Detail: $90, with an estimated 75-minute appointment. Focuses on the cabin.
- Full Detail Sedan: $130, with an estimated three-hour appointment. The menu lists a regular price of $150 and currently applies the offer price.
- Full Detail Truck/SUV: $160, with an estimated three-and-a-half-hour appointment. The menu lists a regular price of $180 and currently applies the offer price.
- Exterior Wash: $90, with an estimated 45-minute appointment. An option when you mainly need the outside cleaned.
The full sedan package is currently $40 more than Interior Detail, while the truck/SUV package is $70 more. That difference is worth considering if both interior and exterior work are on your list. It is not a reason to buy a larger package when you only need cabin care.
Separate add-ons: describe the problem before choosing
The menu distinguishes routine interior care from extra work. Heavy Interior Upgrade adds time for neglected cabins and heavier grime. Pet Hair Removal, Stain Treatment, Odor Treatment, and Third Row Cleaning are separate options.
A full-detail package does not make those concerns disappear from the estimate. Describe embedded pet hair, an old spill, an odor, or a third row when requesting service so the appointment can include the right time and scope. Results depend on the material and its condition; cleaning cannot guarantee reversal of permanent damage or wear.
Three examples to help you decide
The commuter with a tidy exterior and a dusty cabin
Start with Interior Detail. If most of what bothers you is inside, the exterior portion of a full detail may not add much value on this visit.
The family SUV that needs attention throughout
Compare Full Detail Truck/SUV, then discuss any third-row, pet-hair, or stain concerns separately. Match the booking to the actual vehicle and condition rather than selecting the lowest starting price.
The car that is clean inside but dusty outside
Consider Exterior Wash. It covers a hand wash, wheels, tire shine, and exterior glass without adding cabin work you may not need.
Questions customers ask when comparing packages
Does an interior detail include stain removal?
Targeted Stain Treatment is listed as a separate add-on. Describe the affected material and what spilled so Luis can discuss realistic scope and expectations.
Is a full detail the same as paint correction?
No. The listed full-detail packages combine interior and exterior cleaning. Do not assume polishing or scratch correction is included; confirm specialized work directly.
